Two day National Conference on “Advances & Innovations in Biotechnology: Multidisciplinary approaches to Food, Health, Environmental and Energy Issues” (AIBFHEE) and the Annual meeting of Society for Biotechnologist (India) SBT (I) was organized by Dayananda Sagar Institutions (DSI), Bengaluru during November 15 – 16, 2018. Prof. D. Balasubraman was honoured with the Padmabhushan Professor M. V. Pylee Lifetime Achievement Award and Dr. G. A Ravishanakar with the Dr. C. S. Paulose Memorial Oration Award. More than 800 delegates and researcher scholars from various parts of the country and the SBT (I) office bearers attended the conference.
Keynote and plenary lectures were delivered by Prof. D. Balasubramanian, Prof. G. A. Ravishankar , Dr. Muralidhar L. Hegde (Associate Professor, Houston Methodist Neurological Institute, Texas), Dr. Ishtiyaque Ahmad (Jubilant Biosys, Bengaluru), Dr. Georgina Kosturkova (Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Bulgaria) on various aspects of Biotechnology and allied discipline. SBTI oral presentation awards were distributed to Awardees at the valedictory function.
