Padmabhushan Prof. M V Pylee was an Indian scholar, educationist and considered as the Father of Management Education in Kerala. Impressed by the activities of the society to the fields of science, technology and education, Prof. M V Pylee supported SBTI in instituting a Life Time achievement Award in the early 2000s. This award is given to a distinguished senior scientist in the country for his/her life time achievements and contributions to the field of life science.
